The "Wedgwood 225 Shape" was named simply because it celebrates
Wedgwood's 225th anniversary (1984).

"Wedgwood 225 Shape" has a novel porcelain shape, and the most
representative style is "Lunar Style". Lunar has created the most unique
design concept since the establishment of Wedgwood Company 225 years ago.
Lunar designed tableware shapes that are a mixture of bone china and black
basalt. Its characteristics can be seen from the appearance of the
porcelain: part is bone china material and part is black basalt material
(such as the first picture in this article).
"Wedgwood 225 形狀"有新穎的瓷器造型，最具代表的款式為"Lunar
Style"，Lunar創造了Wedgwood公司成立225年以來最獨特的設計概念。Lunar為骨瓷和黑色玄武岩混和設計的餐具形狀，它的特徵從瓷器外觀就可以看出來:

Because the Wedgwood 225 shaped Lunar Style porcelain is a mixture of two
materials, it has two meanings. First, mixing two materials is a tribute
to Wedgwood, because bone china and black basalt are two heavyweight
materials invented by Wedgwood. Secondly, due to the mixed materials,
Lunar Style porcelain is much more difficult to produce, so the output is
small and it has high collection value.

The "Wedgwood 225 shape" was designed and modeled by designer Tom Kellogg
of "Gould & Associates". The launch of this shape took a full three
years to complete the entire series of designs.

Wedgwood 225 Shape won "the Design Plus Award" at the International Fair, Spring 1984 in Frankfurt, the only British design to do so.
