The production process of Queen's Ware includes the following
steps:
1. Choose your clay: Choose a fine-grained clay, usually a cream or
light-colored clay.
2. Molding: Using a wheel or mold to shape the clay into the desired
shape, such as bowls, plates, vases, etc.
3. Drying: Place the shaped pottery in a ventilated place and let it
dry naturally. During this process, the pottery will gradually
harden.
4. First firing: The dry pottery is fired in a kiln. Usually, queen
porcelain is fired at a relatively low temperature, between 1100 and
1200°C.
3.
5. Glazing: After the firing is complete, lead glaze is applied to
the surface of the pottery. This glaze gives the pottery its luster
and protects its surface.
6. Decoration: Decorative designs are hand-painted on glazed pottery.
Common decorations include floral patterns, geometric patterns, and
landscaping.
5.
7. Second firing: The decorated pottery is fired again in the kiln.
In this process, the pottery achieves its ultimate hardness and
durability, and allows the decorative pattern to blend with the
pottery surface.
8. Inspecting and retouching: Inspecting the quality of the pottery and
making the necessary retouching and finishing to ensure the perfection
of the finished product.
7.
